"The Dolphins are honing in on several skill-position draft prospects who interest them, booking private workouts or visits.

Their quarterback search intensifies this week. On Monday, Iowa's Ricky Stanzi auditions at his Pro Day. On Tuesday, the Dolphins will conduct a private workout with Colin Kaepernick after Nevada's Pro Day and meet with him for a third time.

Next Sunday, the Dolphins will have a private session with Cam Newton on Auburn's campus and told people that coach Tony Sparano and Jeff Ireland likely will attend. Most expect Newton will be gone well before Miami picks 15th, but his inconsistent accuracy at the NFL Scouting Combine raised questions. Also this week, the Dolphins reportedly will work out Missouri's Blaine Gabbert, who should be long gone before Miami picks. And Miami has a March 29 private workout with Arkansas' Ryan Mallett.

Miami, which has no second-round pick but wants to acquire one, scheduled private workouts before April 1 with two other quarterbacks: FSU's Christian Ponder and TCU's Andy Dalton. As of Friday, the Dolphins had not requested workouts with Washington's Jake Locker or Idaho's Nathan Enderle."
