I wanted the other Long. It appears the Parcells/Groh connection isn't what I thought it was.

If Miami is Just Jake then V Carey may back to RT.

Just so long as Howie's boy goes to the Rams or Raiders and not the evil empire or the jest, I'll be okay.

I will tell you why this excites me:

    LT Jake Long, 22
    LG Drew Mormino, 24
    C Samson Satele, 23
    RG Justin Smiley, 26
    RT Vernon Carey, 26

thats a very nice, very young O-line....that gives the team a chance to lock these 5 in together for years and build a cohesive and talented unit....thats the best gift you give any young QB or RB

Since you put it like that, Who am I to argue? Much anyway? lol.

You get Beck a TE & the problems on offense start to go away.

they may still feel they need a LG, but you can get that later in the draft....if Long is the pick, then you start adding weapons for Beck in my opinion....a TE should be a priority in my opinion, and maybe another WR, but the offense is on the verge of being set....you are always looking to add quality depth, but thats a good young ball control offense waiting to happen

With Jason Taylor starting to creep up in age and rumors of his being traded, I wanted the Dolphins to take Chris Long, but I'm going to trust in Parcells and Ireland. It would be nice to have a franchise left tackle again.

I guess I can safely scratch Jake now. Sigh. Chris probably won't fall to us either.

Did you see he was sitting with Kirk Morrison at the Giants game last night?

Its being reported today that the Dolphins are also in talks with Vernon Gholston....so maybe Long is not set in stone yet....perhaps the tuna has several players with equal draft grades and will try to get one cheaper by leveraging them against each other....

I think the agents and their players are going to win that battle. This strategy can only hope to contain the ever increasing and seemingly limitless prices that first picks command.

these high draft picks should enjoy these record contracts, because after the CBA is redone, they will never see it again....NBA style slotting is inevitable in my opinion....

It seems like eons ago since Richmond Webb was covering Marino's blind side.

I have just been on the Dorsey then C Long to South Beach bandwagon that I never considered J Long in Aqua & Orange.
