<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Dolphins released the following players Saturday to trim their roster to 52 players: Fullback Fred Beasley, defensive tackle Josh Shaw, running backs Kay-Jay Harris and Gerald Riggs Jr., guards Tony Pape and C.J. Brooks, tackles Mike Pearson and Orrin Thompson. safeties Jack Hunt and Deke Cooper, tight ends Keith Heinrich and Teyo Johnson, cornerbacks Shirdonya Mitchell and Chris Thompson, linebackers Sedrick Hodge, Matt Sinclair and Ben Ishola, and wide receivers Kelly Campbell, Marcus Vick, Fred Gibson and Devin Aromashodu. Defensive tackle Manny Wright, who left the team early in the preseason, was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list. Wright is now ineligible to play for the Dolphins in 2006.</div> It does not surprise that Marcus Vick got axed. He's got potential amd hopefully he makes some teams practice squad. I think he's learned from his mistakes. He could IMO be a decent player given the right situation, time, & experience. If you noticed the roster has 52 not 53 players. Further, there are only 2 RB's & 1FB on the roster but more than typical OL & DL. Rumor is the either trade a DL for a RB or pick up some one who got cut until Morris returns and then an O lineman goes.
I expect Najeh "closet pooper" Davenport to be the back up RB in Miami....I claimed him in FF just in case....
most teams go down to 52 or 51 just incase there is someone on waivers that they like i think the Jets did the same thing
I was surprised that Vick was cut because all indications were that he would make the team...the other guy that surprised me was Sinclair....
