Dolphins not interested in Coles

Laveranues Coles will not reunite with old friend Chad Pennington in South Florida.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Miami Dolphins have no interest in Coles and told the receiver's agent as much shortly after they negotiated out of the final year of his contract with the New York Jets.

Brian Biggane of the Palm Beach Post reported earlier Sunday the Dolphins wouldn't pursue Coles because he's not the type of receiver they were looking for.

Biggane on Friday held an exclusive interview with Pennington, who said he wasn't going to lobby the Dolphins to bring Coles aboard. In light of Mortensen's report, Pennington would have known when he spoke to Biggane the Dolphins were taking a pass.

Where does that leave Coles?

We know Coles visited the Buffalo Bills on Friday. Beyond that, it unknown what other visits he has lined up.

Coles would be a fine addition for the Bills, who for years have been searching for a No. 2 possession receiver to complement Lee Evans and help open up the offense.

The Bills drafted James Hardy with the 41st overall pick last year. Hardy had nine catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns before suffering a knee injury that required surgery in Week 15.

Coles has caught more than 80 passes four times and gained more than 1,000 yards three times. He had 70 catches for 850 yards and a team-high seven touchdowns last season.

I think it is more Coles price they do not want....hes seeking $6mil+ a year....if he came to them and asked for 3 years, $6mil, the tune would change....
