Don Nelson resigns as Mavericks coach

    I guess I shouldn't be shocked with his family issues and the fact Avery Johnson has done a very good job. Still I wonder if he wants to leave that way. I am sorry that he could not finish the year in a great note. I still think he can coach and I am hoping either he or his son can coach the Timberwolves.

    I had to admit I wondered if his basketball days passed him by, but he reinvented himself and did a great job building the Mavericks with smart trades and great draft choices. He did a very good job in Dallas. He left the Mavericks in a great shape.

    He has had a great coaching career, but I hope he coaches again.

    ... is a pity that don nelson had stepped down as a headcoach.. i hope that he still be coaching in future... all the best to one of the top coaches in the league
