Should we start a game day debate thread?

I'm not sure, but have you checked out the VP for the republican party?

Speaking of checking out, have you caught the reality series on teh Blazer dancers? I haven't caught one yet, but I figure if there is anyone to ask a review about the show, it is HCP. Thoughts . . . or maybe this deserves it's own thread. Is there a must be over 21 forum anywhere around here . . .

Dunno about odds on the debate, but I found this:

    http://www.gambling911.com/Republican-Party-030808.html

Republican Party Most Bet On To Win 2008 US Presidency It's the Republican party, not the Democratic party that is getting the most betting action, much to many people's surprise.
A review of the top 10 bets at Bookmaker shows that while Barack Obama being nominated to the Democratic party comes in as the 5th most bet on, the Republicans maintaining the Presidency comes in as the 6th most bet on event of the day Saturday morning.
There was some value in betting on the Republican party to win since the payout would be around 2/1 across the board. The top 10 bets include some futures such as the Presidential race where action has been coming in over a several month period. The most bet on events Saturday March 8 were in College games scheduled for that afternoon.
Louisville vs. Georgetown and North Carolina vs. Duke were the two most bet on events of the day followed by the Lakers winning the 2008 NBA Championship.
At last check, the GOP nominated John McCain was hovering just below even odds, paying out closer to $2 for every $1 bet. Hillary Clinton had much longer odds - anywhere between 3/1 and 5/1. Barack Obama was a small favorite.
It's interesting to point out that that while the Democratic presidential candidates have raised more than $500 million, the Republicans reportedly lead in the crucial area of money raised by the party.

Nearly flat broke at the beginning of 2008, the Democratic National Committee raised some money, paid down its debt and put $3.7 million in the bank, the New York Times said Friday.

But, the Republican National Committee had a reported $25 million on hand after having raised $97 million since early 2007.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I'm not really sure what it means in the real world that the GOP is being bet on. What it means in the gambling world is that people like the odds the GOP is getting...which simply means that they think the payout is unequal to the chances the GOP will lose. Make the odds (and thus payout) great enough, and people will bet on the Grizzlies to upset the Celtics. That's the art of odds-making...to set the odds such that both sides will see action.

Obama is the favourite (apparently), but many people think the GOP has good odds. The action on the Republicans doesn't say much about who most people think will actually win the election.

Obama is gonna get owned. He's good at speeches, but McCain will eat him alive.

The lines move to try and keep the total money bet even on both sides. The house gets vigorish for its cut.

No matter how good the odds are on Minnesota to win the NBA championship, only fools and homers would bet much on them.

how old is that link though? sometime in march it appears.

and while i don't expect mccain to win, 2-1 odds seem to be pretty good.

Here's some news that may affect the odds.

The Repugnant Party is trying to move Election Day up a month sooner to cut the chance that McCain dies of old age before the vote.
