Dooling will be making an estimated $3.5 million. As much as anyone, Dooling was excited about the hiring of Van Gundy, who coached him during the one season (2004-05) he played in Miami. "I learned more from one year with Stan than I did in my first four years in the league,"' said Dooling, who started his career with the Los Angeles Clippers. "He'll be a great asset to the team. [His hiring] only made me more excited about coming back." It'd be nice to have 3.5 million more dollars on FA this year, but this doesn't surprise me at all, since there is likely no way that any other team would offer him more. Keyon is a very good piece off the bench, so keeping him isn't a problem.
That's even less of a surprise. Why would Garrity pass up 3.8 mil? Anyway maybe him, Arroyo, and Dooling could help net us a pretty good player around the deadline with their near $12 mil expiring deals.
<div class="quote_poster">CLos Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Are you kidding me?? Why would any team want them 3?</div> Their contracts expire after the 2007-08 season, which would free up a team's salary cap. (If I'm not mistaken.)
<div class="quote_poster">CLos Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah but who would want Garrity on their team anyways?</div> He would get bought out or cut just like we did with Penny in the Francis trade
If a team is rebuilding and is right around the cap they could give us a quality player that has a multi year contract that they wanted to get rid of anyway to get $12 extra mil and get close to having enough money to go after prized FA next year.
I'm kind of glad that he remained to stay. Out of all our PG's, he is one of the better ones. Unfortunately, that can be looked at as a bad thing too.
I was only joking guys. Hopefully, we could get a veteran player on this team for those expiring contracts.
