<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Quincy Douby has signed with an agent and will not return to the Rutgers University men's basketball team next season. Calling the decision "extremely difficult," Douby said the lure of being drafted in next month's NBA draft was too tempting to pass up.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me," said Douby, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard who averaged a Big East-leading 25.4 points this past season.

"It's just like anybody that's a junior in college when you get an opportunity to pursue your major early, you're definitely going to take it. This is like a good job opportunity for me." Douby signed paperwork with Red Bank-based agent Keith Glass this weekend and is expected to work out for NBA teams as early as this week.

Since Douby announced his intention to enter the draft in mid-April he's had his former high school coach, Jack Ringel, serve as his advisor, but Ringel said NCAA rules make it difficult for an underclassman to work out for NBA teams. The NCAA allows underclassmen who don't sign with an agent the luxury of working out for any NBA team they prefer as long as he or a member of his immediate family pay for the expense.

By signing, Glass will pay for expenditures such as airfare, hotels and food at all of Douby's NBA workouts.</div>

Douby's stock is skyrocketing and most scouts feel he should go ahead of JJ Redick at this point.
