    VITALS: 6-10, 252, Connecticut

OVERVIEW: Okafor was one of two unanimous first team All-Americans after leading Connecticut to the national title. He averaged 17.6 points, 11.5 rebounds and led the nation with 4.1 blocks per game. Although Okafor still has a year of eligibility left, he graduated in three years as a finance major. Okafor is more advanced defensively that offensively, although he shows great potential on offense. He struggled in college at the line and needs to get more comfortable on his jump shot.

LIKELY DRAFT POSITION: Orlando, which holds the No. 1 selection, is Okafor's most likely suitor. In dire need of toughness, the only thing that would stop the organization from drafting him is his questionable back. If Okafor slides, the Clippers would probably trade the No. 2 pick to a team targeting the former Husky. Washington (3) needs a bruiser as badly as Orlando does.

    COMPARATIVE UPSIDE: Alonzo Mourning

    COMPARATIVE DOWNSIDE: Stacey King

    ROLE PROJECTION: Immediate starter

POSITIVES: Inch-for-inch, Okafor is one of the top shot-blockers on the planet. He anticipates, can track an opponent's release and has solid reaction-response time. Furthermore, Okafor's rebounding is as strong as his shot-blocking, and he has shown great improvement in his low post game over the years.

SHORTCOMINGS: Okafor lacks center size despite having a game that is best suited for playing in the middle. Once you move him to power forward, his lack of shooting and ballhandling abilities become exposed. Moreover, competing at the 4-spot draws Okafor away from potential rebounds and blocks under the basket.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "Okafor's the most proven player in this draft. He's coming off a national championship, was named college player of the year. He's a very good shot blocker, good defender and he has great character, is a hard worker. He's as sure of a thing as there is in this draft. - Washington Wizards general manager Ernie Grunfeld
