OVERVIEW: Pickett played two seasons at Florida State after two years in two junior colleges. The Daytona Beach, Florida native attended the same high school as Toronto Raptors star Vince Carter. Pickett shot nearly 41 percent from the arc and averaged 16.7 points and was named first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference this past season for the Seminoles. The explosive scorer possessed one of the best mid-range games in college and shot 43 percent overall. Pickett is a pure scorer who does not like to defend and that may hurt his draft chances.

LIKELY DRAFT POSITION: Pickett's great workouts helped move him into the early second round, but poor play at Chicago may have pushed him back into the 50s. His 1-of-10 shooting performance - which included 0-of-8 from the arc - on the final day of the camp was not the lasting impression Pickett would have liked to have made.

COMPARATIVE UPSIDE: Anthony Peeler, Eddie House

    COMPARATIVE DOWNSIDE: Ed Gray

    ROLE PROJECTION: Reserve

POSITIVES: A vocal personality who plays with an equal amount of enthusiasm, Pickett finds ways to score from everywhere on the floor. He is one of the few pure shooters in the draft and also is an excellent athlete with a well-built physique. In the NBA, Pickett projects as a reserve who scores a lot of points in limited minutes. Pickett's ability to cause turnovers, shoot off the dribble and create his own shot offers him a fighting chance.

SHORTCOMINGS: Pickett stands slightly shorter than 6-4, so he could have trouble defending opposing 2-guards. His taller, longer counterparts at that position also are likely to make it difficult for him to collect clean looks offensively. If Pickett is forced to make the transition to the point guard at the next level - a position at which he has struggled - the move could spell the end of his pro career.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "I like Tim Pickett - high energy guy. I don't believe that a guy should be first round, second round or anything like that. I think he's a NBA player and someday he can play in the NBA." - NBA director of scouting Marty Blake
