Well as we get closer and closer to the 28th...trades are bound to happen for multiple teams to move up in the draft.

Although Minny can get a good player at the 7 slot, wouldn't it be great for them to package a deal with thier pick to move up to 3 and get ATL's pick? It's a no-brainer that Horford would be a great compliment to KG with his rebounding and size. I don't consider it out of the question due to the fact there is a great chance that Conley could still be there at the 7 for ATL (who needs a PG).

Maybe ATL drafts Horford, and if Conley is there when Minny picks...we draft him and trade his draft rights and another PG (ie; Hudson or Jaric)...for Horford's draft rights and a future 1st round pick?

    Any thoughts?

I like the trade idea, but I am actually higher on Hawes right now anyway. I think he has way more potential and will still be a solid rookie. I think Horford is an absolute beast, but he isn't THAT big and idk i just feel like he won't become a superstar. I think that Hawes being a legit center is more valuable.

You want to trade the #7 pick and filler for #3 AND a future first???

    Why would ATL do that?

It gives ATL what they need in a potential PG All-Star in Conley and a PG that can step in and start now (ie; Hudson/Jaric). ATL could even use the services of a lock-down perimeter Defender in Hassell. Minny as plenty of solid (although, not spectacular...lol) players to make the trade work. All I'm saying is ATL keep taking serious looks at Conely at the 3 when Minny can get him at the 7th. ATL can still get the player they want with a lil extra for a future first round pick...I never said it had to be an unconditional pick...it can be protected (ie; 2008/top 10 protected, 2009/top 5 prot, 2010/top 3 prot/2011, unprotected).

That's basically saying Trenton Hassell for a future first round pick, and that's way too much of a gamble for any team to take. Even with a protection, that's not a good trade, because the future is so unpredictable, especially for a team like the Hawks who have had such bad luck as of late.

Not to mention that the Hawks could probably get more by shopping the #3 pick to a team like Golden State, who wants to move up and draft Yi Jianlian.

All in all, I think a trade is unnecessary, because the Wolves can have a player who's younger and yet still a lot more fundamentally sound in the post than Horford at #7, Spencer Hawes.

I fully understand were everyone is coming from, I'm mearly just proposing viable options for Minnesota. In no way shape or form am I saying that the trade will happen but I'm not one to say it couldn't. And were does everyone keep coming up with me suggesting that only Hudson, Jaric or Hassel would go with the #7 to ATL? Last time I checked, when you package a deal, more than one player can be included...Besides, how long will the ATL fans get tired of finishing at the bottom waiting on thier teams "potential"? Potential is just that...uncertain. At one point they will need to put some stability in thier lineup and quit banking on youth. It only goes so far with no veteran leadership!
