It is this tuesday. Type in this format: Which pick you think we'll get: #3 ( I'm feeling it for some reason) Player we will draft: Rudy Gay
I think we'll get #8 pick: Foye This is kinda off topic, but does anyone know if the draft lottery will be on TV? If so , which t.v. station?
Which pick we will get: 7th Player we will draft: Carney By the way, anyone know who's going to represent us?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Guys we can only pick 1-3 or 8-11 nothing else.</div> My bad on my pick. I'm going to say 8th then, I really can't see us hitting it lucky after what happened this season. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">why is that?^^</div> Because of this- http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread...?t=51285&page=6 Check out Durvasa's post and you'll see why. Or, just take a look at- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Draft_Lottery
Aww man! We got 8th! Oh well, at least it's not lower than we are supposed to be. MAN! Toronto Raptors are lucky with number 1!
Espn Espn.com's Chad Ford has us taking Ronnie Brewer. But we still have a chance to draft Andrea Bargnani, Morrison, Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, and Randy Foye. We can only draft those players, only if they fall down in the draft? I wanna see comments on who we should get. If Adam Morrison for some reason falls down to 8th pick, i say get him. he is a big SF. Right now i want him the most, but if everything goes like its suppose to.. I say get Ronnie Brewer http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/...raftyear%3d2006
Ronnie Brewer is not a top 10 pick. He was during the college season but not anymore. Espn hasn't updated it yet. Here are the following players that will not drop to us Adam Morrison(Scoring ability can help any number of teams in the top 7 for example Charlotte, Portland, and Atlanta) Tyrus Thomas(Supposedly he is better the Stromile but I dont see a difference. His shotblocking and rebounding could instantly help Chicago, Minnesota, Boston, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Portland. Lamarcus Aldridge(Should be the best player in this draft aftter 4 years after Rudy Gay. Teams like Toronto probably will not pick him unless they want to start him at the 5 and CB at the 4. He could go a number of spots like Toronto, CHICAGO will take him in a heart beat, Charlotte, Portland, Atlanta, Minnesota, and Boston. Brandon Roy(Versatile SG who is 6'6. Ive seen his game and he can easily take over a college game, but im worried about that shifting over to the NBA. Portland, Atlanta, and Minnesota would love to have him) Andrea Bargani( Great shooter. Toronto has reported to be greatly interested in this guy. I wouldn't be surprised if he went #1 with the level of interest they are showing in him. Any team in the top 7 would love to take him except Minnesota) Rudy Gay(Probably the most versatile player on this list but could go to any of the teams. His one problem is Adam Morrison is more developed and NBA ready, but Gay's skills at this point in his career are amazing. Teams will draft Morrison higher than Gay. Toronto will take morrison if they decide on a 3 gaurd. Bulls are stacked at the position. Charlotte has an up and coming Gerald Wallace, but Gay might give them star potential. Portland is stuck with Darius Miles, but they have far greater needs than SF. Atlanta is stacked at the 3 gaurd. Minnesota seems like the only place above us where he would instantaneously start and they would be addressing a main need.
I actually feel it will go as follows: Toronto- Andrea Bargani Chicago- Lamarcus Aldridge or Tyrus Thomas(both would fit) Charlotte- Adam Morrison Portland- Brandon Roy Atlanta- Tyrus Thomas or Lamarcus Aldridge(whichever one is left on the board) Minnesota- Randy Foye Boston- Marcus Williams Houston- Rudy Gay Why would Rudy gay fall so far to us Explanation: Toronto has a need at SF, but they are so inclined on drafting Bargani that it is crazy. Chicago is in desperate need of a big man. They are stacked at the SF position. Charlotte will take adam morrison because at this point in both careers, Morrison is going to make the bigger impact. Portland needs that SG to handle the load and provide stability to the offense. Brandon Roy is the answer. Atlanta also is stacked at the Sf and needs a big man. Whoever is left on the board. Even Shelden Williams will do. Minnesota is the greatest threat the Rockets have of acquiring Rudy. They don't have a legitamate player at the SF position, but they also need help at the PG position. With Randy Foye's recent workouts(he has been amazing), he is the most NBA ready for the PG/SG position. Rudy Gay is still a little raw Boston is stacked at the SF position with Wally Szcerbiak and Gerald Green and Ryan Gomes. Houston yes we have tracy mcgrady, but we need that athletic swingman on the team. Rudy Gay is the answer.
Toronto media are leaning towards the Raptors trading the pick for a role player and a lower pick. Could we possibly trade a veteran and pick 8 and gain the number one pick? Not that we have anyone valuable to give up (is Stro enough?), but getting the number one would give us a lot of flexibility and maybe draft Aldridge or Morrison. If I had a say though, I'd say stay put at 8th and pick Shelden Williams.
