Now that the season is coming to the end, lets name a few teams who 'stole' players from the draft that are having alot of success.Houston Rockets-Luther Head. He has been playing very well. He is a pretty good defensive player, nice shooter and he is quick and can get to the line. He's been averaging 8, 3 and 2 in 26 minutes for the Rockets. He was drafted at #24 in the draft.New York Knicks-Nate Robinson. Nate may be small but he has some crazy hops. He can sometimes be seen jumping over folks. He is a nice shooter and he has brought some excitement to the Knicks otherwise dreadful season. He is averaging 8, 2 and 2 in 19 mpg under Larry Brown. He was drafted #21Sacramento Kings-Francisco Garcia. He is a versatile player, he can be cutting and getting the lay in or knocking down the jumper. He is an alright rebounder. He's been averaging 6, 3 and 1 in 21 mpg. He was drafted #23.Seattle Sonics-Johan Petro. The guy is so damn athletic. He has done a solid job on the boards. He lacks finesse but he has been a 5, 5 player which is pretty good for a guy drafted at #25.New York Knicks-David Lee. David has a bit of range. He can knock down that side jumper when he plays the wing. He is also a good rebounder and puts back quite a bit of boards as well. When he does play under Larry Brown he averages 5 and 4 which is good for a #30 draft pickAtlanta Hawks-Salim Stoudamire. Wow. This guy has been a rocket ever since he landed in the NBA. He has carried over his college shooting into the NBA without a bit of regress. Shooting .380 from 3 pt land. He has a nice jumper too and is good at creating his own shot. He isn't a very natural point but he can be a very nice combo guard for the Hawks in the future. He's been averaging 10 ppg, drtafted at the #31 position.Boston Celtics-Ryan Gomes. Ryan was this years steal in the draft. Drafted at the #50 spot no one expected him to do so well. He can score from almost anywhere on the court, he is versatile and a great shooter. Averaging 6 and 4. And get this, he was expected to go in the late first round. Great job Danny Ainge.
i agree with you on the knicks rookies. they really are good players when given the time. isiah is best known for his draft picks. hopefully nate and lee will stay in ny cuz right now they're cheap and very good and that can help them get under the cap.garcia and stoudemire will also be very explosive shooters in the nba. i like their games a lot.
Some of these guys were picked at the right spots really, Gomes is the only standout of the names you said.
Ryan Gomes fo sho. The Celtics were seriously considering picking him w/ their 18th pick. Thank GOD he slipped.Another steal.. Chris Paul. ATL should've picked him.
I agree. These past 2 seasons they drafted for talent not for what the needed. They needed a playmaking point guard and they pick Marvin Williams? That makes no sense to me considering they were already full at the forward spots.Had Atlanta picked Paul they WOULD have either made the playoffs this season or pretty close to it. Look what he is doing to that Hornets team that won 18 games last season!Marvin Williams will never be a superstar in this league. He will be a solid player for sure but he will never amount to the credentials that Chris Paul will rack up in his career.
hell nah..i dont think nate was a steal either..but Gomes for sure was the steal fo the draft..I WOULD HAVE NEVER expected him to do this much..
This list was just according to how well they were doing so far. In the future, I would never have picked Nate.
why on earth is johan petro on the list???a 5 and 5 guy isnt a steal at anypoint in the draft, none the less the first round......

The reason New Orleans did so bad last year is bc of injuries and Baron Davis. BD has one of the worst attitudes in the league. He set a bad example for the rest of the team in NO and he pretty much faked that back injury. Why do you think he immediately started playing again when he went to GSW? Also, Speedy Claxton has been huge for them this year. And they've started buying into Byron Scotts' philosophy, not to mention the outburst of David West. Alot of things can be contributed to the huge turnaround, not just Paul. He deserves alot of credit, but he is being a tad bit overrated right now.
I think every Celtics pick in the 05' draft was a steal....Gerald Green was a projected lottery pick and he fell to 18th....the fact that Ryan Gomes slipped as far as he did just shows how stupid some NBA front office's are and Orien Greene has been playing very nicely considering the fact that he wouldn't really even be playing if it wasn't for Dan Dickau's injury
That's because they never played him. But yeah your right, right now he is just raw, trying to dunk over everyone. College would have really helped him out. He is really athletic but he has to work on his shooting and defense mainly.
When did this happen? And how? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>This list was just according to how well they were doing so far. In the future, I would never have picked Nate.</div>It's too early for this kind of list anyways.
^Me and Dogma had a bet. Who would win the Raptors vs. Celtics game. And raps won so he has to wear a custom made Raps sig.
