After Walsh and The Knicks get an idea as to what they are going to receive as far as the sad Mobley situation (he was looking forward to playing for NY after the intial shock of being dealt). The deal will include Lee, Malik, Roberson and the Mobley medical exemption for Gooden and Sefolosha.....Walsh is big on having defenders on this team and Thabo is an underrated defensive player who NY has an eye on....Fits the D'Antoni model...good length, heady player, not a great offensive player, but has some skills! That is the guy Walsh really wants with that Mobley medical exemption...Donnie sees him as a Raja Bell type player, only younger! Walsh is checking rosters for under-utilized young players with that medical exemption. http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=864289&start=0
The one scary thing about Lee is that Ben Gordon has more blocks than him this year! But Lee can rebound, and he can put the ball in the basket, which would be good for this team. Our big's seem to have trouble finishing off of our guard's passes.
I could see Thabo and Gooden tearing it up for the Knicks. I'd much prefer to deal them Hughes. The trade, as this guy proposes it, isn't anything close to working under the CBA rules. You can't trade disabled player exceptions for one. For two, the Knicks are unlikely to get one since they knew about Mobley's condition before the trade and went ahead with it.
I'd imagine it's some guy who works for the Knicks, not high up or anything, who heard it through the grape vine, and multiple things like injury exceptions, Gooden, and trades were discussed, and like the telephone game, this was the weird mutation of the origin that was brought to this guy.
