Drexel upset Syracuse in the Carrier Dome 84-79 tonight. Another upset and a great win for the Dragons of Drexel.
CAA team upsets Big East foe...where have I heard this before? Drexel looks like a legit tourney contender out of the Colonial this year; they just beat Villanova, too Either that or the Big East is truly falling apart this year
Schaddy, wasn't you the one that said Syracuse was one of the most overrated teams in the nation. It looks like you are correct. Anyways, I absolutely love it! Syracuse has such an easy schedule and I say that since they have no true road games and a ton of "guarantee" games at the Carrier Dome. Its nice to see Drexel go up there and pull away with an upset win considering this was supposed to be one of those games that the Orangeman expected to win and win by a lot.

And contrary to what you were saying, they've played a very decent schedule. Wichita State, Oklahoma State, Baylor, and Drexel are not four easy teams to play in the nonconference. Yes, compared to teams like Gonzaga that's a weak schedule, but compare it to most of the other ranked teams. UConn's schedule reads as follows: Quinnipiac, Central Arkansas, Fairfield, Ole Miss, Albany, Sacred Heart, Texas Southern, Northeastern, St. Mary's, Pepperdine, and Coppin State, all at home. You shouldn't be so black and white about judging talent. Rankings and systems of rating shouldn't be based on wins and losses or games scheduled on the road. They should be based on talent and how a team performs in those games. Syracuse has not only played great basketball in all except three games this season, but their roster is so stacked with talent that they're brining Paul Harris and Eric Devendorf, two players with definite NBA futures, off of their bench.

Yes, they have all the talent in the world, but when you can't mesh as a team and beat the big boys, then you don't deserve to be mentioned as one of the elite teams. They did this same exact thing last year; had arguably the most talented roster in america, but never could come together until it was too late. I'm afraid they are on that same route this season. Hopefully i'm wrong though, because I have a ton of respect for Jim Boeheim, and I hope he can have this team playing Syracuse basketball soon enough.
