Favre is a great in my books. However lets face it he's getting old and I think its time for him to call it quits. He's not the same as he used to be, he's getting a bit washed up. Not taking anything from Favre because he's one of the best to play the QB position, just the time has come.

As a Viking fan, I am greatly saddened to see Favre go. It's going to be very hard to watch a Vikings v. Packers game, and not see 4 on the field. What a class act, and its not just GB fans that will miss him.

I think its best for the Packers if Favre walks away....they arent likely to win another Super Bowl with him, so its best to move on....

Hey Everyone Im new to Forums

Wow if Number 4 leaves its gonna be really tough for the Pack, however I still think they have a decent chance at a superbowl, With a New D coordinator coming in to straighten them up The offense may not have to carry the whole game on their shoulders.

Favre still has it though just look at all of his last minute game winning drives this year, Sure he doesn't have the physical abillity he had 5-6 Years ago but he's still in the Elite group of QB's in the NFL, at least in my book

Welcome Florida Packer...glad to have you here.

I don't think Favre should hang it up just yet. One or two more years is definitely left in the tank, although emotionally one might wonder. I do think the Packers can still win a superbowl with him, if they get a little help from some other areas.

    Hey thanks for the welcome

Yeah I think the only thing that could hold him back is whats happening in his family life right now, With his wifes condition and all.

Favre was 5th in passing yards, 4th in TD passes, 10th for passer rating and 9th in completion percentage this year.

I can't believe people think he's "washed up" after a 4000+ yard, 30 TD season.

yea i dont understand this washed up stuff with favre. He had great stats as Pack Attack was saying. I say 1-3 more years though. The packers gotta start looking for a qb now though. Also i dont wanna see Favre go to another team like Emmit. i doubt that will happen though he'll retire before they get to that. 3 years at most for Favre. He's still a great qb and they Packers need a freakin defense they were absolutly horrible on D this year. They'd have a really good chance if they were to get thier D up to par.

I totally agree with u on that one, I don't see Favre going past 2 years however, Im sure he could do it but I don't think he will for family reasons

You guys remember that Favre is washed up during next year's fantasy draft because I doubt I'll get Manning or Culpepper unless I get a premium pick. There are a bunch of STARTING NFL QBs that wish they were as washed up as Brett Favre.

U know if he did stick around for 2 years he could proably break Dan he Man's TD Record, however Favre doesn't really care about records though.

    The latest from Chris Mortensen:

Less than a week after Packers wide receiver Donald Driver opined that Brett Favre was headed for retirement, sources close to the Packer quarterback have told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that Favre is likely to return for the 2005 season. Former Green Bay GM Ron Wolf chimed in with his two cents, indicating he believes Favre will return as well.

Brett is still a top 10 QB in my books. With the O-Line GB has, he could go a few more years.

I think we should all remember, Favre is still only 35 years old. Look at how many past QB's have been effective after 35. Brad Johnson won a Super Bowl at 35. Gannon made the Super Bowl at 37. Elway won a Super Bowl at 35 and 36. Randall Cunnigham had a career year with Minnesota in 1998 at the age of 36. I could go on. This is proof that for some players, age is just a number. I think Favre is still in his prime.

Favre registered to play in an upcoming golf tournament and agreed to sign on only if it didn't interfere with any of Green Bay's mini camps. Another sign he's probably coming back...
