Remember this years Tour de France? Remember all the drugs scandals as several of the top contenders were thrown out before the start due to being linked with a blood doping ring? Well the judicial case is gathering pace in Spain and the outcome is expected in the summer. But it always was admitted by the Dr at the heart of the ring that other sports including football were involved, but cycling was the only sport to try to tackle the problem.... however journalists at French paper Le Monde have now alleged several top Spanish football teams were involved. For such a potentially big story not much is being seen on this side of the channel. Given FIFA's reluctance to introduced tests for EPO and other cutting edge doping procedures, who can say how deep the problem goes in football?
