Louisiana Tech's Olu Ashaolu (6'7"/220) has decided to transfer to Oregon. Choosing the Ducks over Texas, Xavier, San Diego State and the NBA. Ashaolu was an all WAC selection last season averaging 14.2 ppg and 9.4 rpg.

Altman is doing Fantastic for being form a Midwest Mid-Major and only being here a year. He signed a top 20 class including 5 star, top 5 player at Shooting Guard Jabari Brown, as highly rated and recruited a kid that we have ever signed. He also landed a JC All American Power Forward Carlos Emory and now we add to the mix of this class senior transfer Davoe Joseph a Big 10 starting combo guard from Minnesota and now All WAC selection Olu Ashaolu a projected 2nd round pick had he come out in this years draft as a senior transfer. We may not be done yet as we still are in the mix, but a long shot to sign 5 star PF DeAndre Daniels. As far as talent coming in for next year we are easily top 5 in the nation in incoming talent for the inaugural Pac-12 season.

If we get Daniels I will fall over. It is great to be in the mix though

i think the major thing we need to do asap is keep in state talent here, seems there is an issue with that

I think that is one of Altman's strategy. Kent had somewhat of a bad reputation within the state of Oregon....If I recall correctly? I think you will start to see more and more local kids give Oregon a hard look.

I have always wondered why do don't do that. I hope Altman develops a better rapport with local HS coaches and tries to keep state talent in state.

Kent was the problem. I really enjoyed watching the team with Ridnour, Jackson, and Jones... but Kent was so freakin bad it reminded me of Mo Cheeks. I'm so glad he's gone.

For all the bashing that Altman took when he was hired, he is proving to people he can recruit with the best of them when coaching in a premier conference.

So far more than good for Altman and recuiting. I for one thought there was no way he could recuit to the Pac 12, but I was wrong. I always thought he could coach though

I have to admit I was very concerned about that and didn't think he could recruit as needed.

Kent had no shot at Kevin Love, Kyle Singler, or Terrence Jones, who were arguably the 3 best Oregon HS players of the Kent era.

I remember a little about that. That is what I was referring to when I said he had a bad reputation. I have no idea why though?
