Anaheim Ducks coach Randy Carlyle signed a one-year contract extension through the 2011-12 season, the team announced on Tuesday.

    Terms were not revealed.

Carlyle has coached the Ducks since 2005 and led the team to its first NHL title in 2007. The Ducks went to the postseason from 2005-09.

"Randy has done a terrific job for us over the last six seasons," Ducks executive vice president and general manager Bob Murray said in a statement. "His record speaks for itself and we are pleased to have him leading our club going forward."

The Ducks have 36 points this season and are in second place behind the Dallas Stars in the Pacific Division.
