I wore my Saladin Mccullough jersey, which countered any jinx that may have been present.

LOL!

Rep'd!

And for the record, I have never thought you were a jinx. You're a huge knowledgeable fan and a respect the shit out of you.

Anybody else starting to come around with Helf?

as usual, lots of laughs in the game thread read over my morning coffee. Amazing we watched the same game

props to Zags for being the only one that I've read since the 1st Zona matchup to admit he might have been wrong with all the fire the coaches stuff so many we're screaming earlier this season. Can't believe it took this much for someone to finally reverse their stance. Helfrich is now 23-3 as a Head Coach which I'm reasonably certain is the greatest start to any Coach's record in the history of the conference. I truly am thankful for Oregon's long tenured coaching staff

the other thing I always enjoy reading following a big Duck win is the coverage from the other team's home town paper, though this time the comments section was pretty subdued. Enjoy!

I've been really impressed with how Pellum has grown into the job. No more bend don't break, last night was smash mouth defense and I loved it!

Don't you think having Mariota might have made it a little easy for his transition to HC?

He stepped into Chip's system with Chip's players. I don't think we'll truly see how good Helf is until next season without Mariota and with a team that is entirely (?) recruited by him. Obviously a lot of the key players are freshman this year, so that's already really impressive. Nelson and Royce have been amazing, but Mariota erases a lot of sins and I don't think we'll truly see Helf earn his paycheck until he breaks in a new QB next year.

It was so nice to finally see our defensive line dominate. Washington and Armstead and Buckner were all just destroying the Zona running game. It was so much fun to watch.

So for you it's fair to call for his head following a rare loss when he's missing much of his O Line but Chip gets the credit for the wins?

As for Marcus, Helfrich discovered him as an unknown prospect, headed his recruitment, and as his position coach developed him. If any coach deserves credit for Marcus it's MH

I think the true test of Helf will be next season without Marcus Mariota. The true test of whether we will continue to be a power into next season. I think the program is here to stay, but losing MM will be a pretty big blow and I'm not really sold on Lockie. I haven't seen much of the other guys.
