It was a hell of a game. I actually got to go. I feel roughly the same about Duke winning as I felt about getting stuck in the parking lot for two hours after the game.
Should have parked and gone out the South side of Lucas Oil. I only sat for 15 minutes. Either that or you should have stuck around for One Shining Moment instead of leaving with the 65,000 Butler fans that left when the buzzer sounded.
Yeah, I was pretty dumb. Still I was out of the Circle Center Mall parking lot in 15 minutes on Saturday. Monday the lot was just as full but for whatever reason they couldn't get people out. I guess it's still better than watching One Shining Moment though
It didn't hurt that he had Alcindor and then Walton, and the NBA wasn't drafting guys before they graduated. Those teams dominated.
You didn't miss anything. Jennifer Hudson was terrible, and the highlights were probably the poorest I've seen. How many more titles he win though if they allow freshmen to play? 1-2 more?
Certainly 2 more. One for each year Kareem and Walton could have played. Though the David Thompson Wolfpack was a very tough team. I think he blocked 2 of Walton's shots in one game, and he was like 6'3".
That got me wondering exactly when UCLA won in comparison to when those guys were there. I had thought they actual won with those guys on the freshman team, and If I'm looking at the numbers correctly, they did actually win when those guys were freshman. The only time UCLA lost while either of those 2 were at the school was Walton's senior year. I read in one of Wooden's books that Walton's senior class had basically got complacent and thought they couldn't be touched. It started I believe with the Notre Dame loss (that snapped the 88 game winning streak), then it kind of snowballed. Like you said though, they did play a really good NC State team. Thompson was incredible.
