I'm glad to see that the Warriors didn't want to get rid of Dunleavy.Dunleavy is good for the Warriors team. Does anybody here see Dunleavy as the future of the Warriors?
Him, Richardson, Pietrus, Murphy, and Biedrins in my mind are the ones they need to keep. I just don't know how they can sign them all. I know a couple of these guys will probably be gone in a few years.

Hopefully all the other nba teams are way over to not be able to afford those guys.
I agree that Dunleavy has potential. I mean how can a 6 foot 10 inch basketball player with some of the skills that Dunleavy has not have potential? But gosh...I really don't see anything "special" about Dunleavy's play the last two years. Have you?(besides a game here and there) I guess what I'm saying is that-until Dunleavy actually shows that he deserves to start in the NBA, I can't really get too high about his game. I mean last year there wasn't a whole lot(if anything) between Dunleavy and Cardinal or even Pietrus in some cases. People say Dunleavy is the future of this team. However what I keep hearing is that the Warriors are trying to have a team with good defenders and players that hustle. And I don't see Dunleavy being either of those... The bottom line though: I am happy Dunleavy will be able to show us what he has for the next two seasons now. And I am interested in how he comes out. But in my mind the "center-core" of this team is Speedy, JRich, Pietrus, and Murphy(I think these are the main 4 players for the Warriors and their success). Then you have the "inner-core" with Foyle, Dunleavy, Cliff, and Biedrins. Then I guess the "outer-core" is Fisher, Davis, and Cheaney. And I don't know where Flores and Najera would be for the Warriors next year; I would suppose like the inner-core.(is that how it goes? center, inner, then outer?...but i hope you get my point).

But I also think Biedrens won't be a bust. He'll be a decent ballplayer and maybe more. He's projected to be a Chris Bosh/Kmart type of player with hopefuls praying that he becomes a Tim Duncan type of player (more athleticism). He's really quick for a 7 footer, but I can't say he's part of core yet. So ignore my excitement when I start hyping him up because we haven't seen him play yet.

I Mean in all honesty here,is there any chance Dunleavy will improve over the years, and can he be able to be retained here in the next few years before the Warriors get sick of him,or vice-versa.
I love Mike but I doubt he ever becomes the leader of our team. He can be a Scottie Pippen type point forward who is a great 2nd option but never the go to guy. He obviously still can be but I doubt he ever fullfills the expectations we had when we drafted him.
His skill is really versatility. I agree that he probably won't be a leader, but he's a great team player who at the top end could end up like Pippen, or more likely Kukoc shooting/passing big man or maybe even a Jalen Rose-type SF/SG/PG.

Both can shoot, both can pass, dribble, rebound. Kukoc of course can play all 5 positons, but Dunleavy is limited to 3 or 4 at most, which is still good. Look for Dunleavy this year to put up 18 points a night and give up 27 points on defense! Actually I take that back. Dunleavy is a good defender fundamentally because his mind knows what to do, but his body is just way too slow to react for the level of quickness in the nba. And that makes him a pretty poor defender when contesting the perimeter players, staying in front of an attacker, or not getting position right away at times. It's nothing a little hustle won't fix. The guy's gotta dive on the floor like he was doing later in the season and just ripping down boards like he did on that one 20/20 game he had.
