Scranton wins 20-2 for Governor’s Cup Title That was one of the worst pitched games I’ve ever watched by one team. The Durham Bulls’ pitching was awful. The game was over in the third inning. Then with Scranton leading 16-1 in the top of the sixth inning, Juan Miranda hit a 3 run home run and started show boating around the bases raising his arms. I didn’t think it was cool. The umpire then warned both benches and tried not to allow Durham retribution. It didn’t matter because the Scranton manager protected Miranda and took him out of the game in the 8th inning just before Miranda was supposed to get up at bat. I thought it was a wimp move. He should of let Miranda get up at bat and teach and show him why you don’t show boat in baseball. Phil Hughes was impressive for pitching in a minor league game but he got in trouble in the bottom of the 4rth inning walking in a run after loading the bases. One has to wonder if this was a major league game if he would of escaped without any further damage. I don‘t think he would. If he was pitching in a major league game, he would of got hit hard and the inning would of continued. He threw 97 pitches in 5 total innings and that’s a lot. To me, the final verdict on Hughes is incomplete in his short minor league stint. I don’t like bringing that up because this should be something the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees and us fans should be celebrating. Still, you can’t take anything away from 20-2. That’s total domination. No matter who was pitching or why for the Bulls, the bottom line is that Scranton won and they won convincingly.
