or do they all just wait for Adrian Wojnarowski to tell them what happened?

Quick was the first mention I saw that we were looking at Wright.

On my twitter time line it shows Woj tweeted the Blazers signed him first then Quick tweeted it 6 mins later.

He doesn't mean signed. He means interested in. When that was reported like 3 days ago.

yeah, this. Haven't seen them break anything, just that he reported we offered the deal first, I believe.

They broke the news that LA wanted out which was then refuted by LA but then unnamed sources reported that LA was lying.

    What a twist!

    Here is a big one:

Joe Freeman: Based on conversations I’ve had with #Blazers decision makers, I do not expect the team to resign Elliot Williams next season. Twitter @BlazerFreeman

    Does Blazer's Edge count?

The Portland Trail Blazers released guard/forward Sasha Pavlovic on Saturday. Pavlovic, 29, averaged 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 39 appearances last season. Pavlovic was entering the second year of a three-year contract but his 2013-14 and 2014-15 salaries were non-guaranteed. Blazers Edge

How often does local media 'break' a story? It's usually a national media guy, since that's what they're paid to do, and massage their sources with meals and such to maintain the pipeline.

That brings up the question, what do the local guys get paid for?

They broke the connection between the owner and fans, player and fans, and fans opinion on the team:

Well, in the the case of Canzano/Quick/Jaynes, it's apparently to badger/blackmail the team's best players into hating living here.

It's the national guys because people with inside information want to see their info go far and wide, carried by a nationally-recognized byline. Also, I think most of that info tends to come from agents (who are national, rather than local sources) not from teams (which are the local, rather than national entities)... so it stands to reason that the early heads-up on trades and free agent signings would come from national reporters with connections to player agents.

That is how bad it has gotten. They should have a relationship with the Blazers so they can give us insight. (And break the occasional story) But since they have screwed up their relationship with the Blazers (and Ducks for that matter) they are downsizing their staff.

I blame the Oregonian management. They encouraged/allowed a combative relationship between the sports writers and our sports teams. Now they have a piss poor sports department barely hanging on. They have lost a lot of respect with the fans, players, and coaches. The sensationalism of the "Jail Blazers" era was the beginning of their downfall.

Pretty much every newspaper in the USA is downsizing staff. Advertising dollars are drying up, and news is much more readily available on the internet. It's not just a Portland thing.

Quick's priorities are childish. His biggest tweet of the day:

Then why do all the other 2-million-population metropolises have 7-day delivery? Because their editors don't employ assholes like Canzano against the will of their readers.

@MySportsLegion: Blazers have quietly had a great offseason so far. They've added: C.J. McCollum, Dorell Wright, Allen Crabbe, Robin Lopez & Thomas Robinson.
