I would just like to give my props out to Dwight Howard for his rookie campain. Dwight howard's numbers are awesome for a rookie straight out of high school:: 2004-05 He is averageing a double double. amare Statistics stoudemire doesn't even average a double PPG 11.8 double. I would just like to congragulate RPG 10.10 him on his year and hope that he comes APG .9 home with the rookie of the year for the EFF + 17.92 Orlando Magic organization.
Dwight i think is the best rookie in the fact that his next season will be better, and then the next etc.. Okafor wont blossom to be all that much better, and Gordon is showing what he does now, and hes being used to his fullest, as is Okafor. Both are main scorers on their teams, also 1 of the 2 or 3 go to guys (in the case of Okafor, really the main guy with Knight). Dwight is 4th on our list of scorers, and with Deshawn and Jameers "starter" stats, is tied for like 5th with jameer I think (roughly). So dwight has had as good a season as the other rookie candidates, hes been the best towards the latter part of the season, and hes not even playing near his fullest? Ok, ben and okafor can have their awards, lets see who is better in the future (its gonna be one of those "oh why did they get ROY, D12 was the best of that class!" )
Dwight Howard won't win the ROY. The media isn't all over him like they are over the Uconn boys. With Stern trying to raise the age to enter the NBA, I don't think they would hype up another player straight out of HS. Of course I think Dwight deserves it, but I'm biased. Dwight has had an amazing season and next year he will be even better when we give him 15-20 shots. I agree with magicdamo, Dwight will be the best player in this clalss and I'm definetely happy that we drafted him over Okafor(I was one of the few people who wanted this to happen at the time). Also he's showing his dependability in possibly being the only guy to jump straight from HS to start in all 82 games in his rookie year.
