When we saw David Stern shake the hand of 18 year-old Dwight Howard in the 2004 NBA Draft he became the newest member of the Orlando Magic. It was a controversial pick by some they wanted the Magic to select another PF/C by the name of Emeka Okafor because he was more polished and had a better resume and more experience because he played for perennial college powerhouse the Connecticut Huskies, who later on became the 2nd pick by the Charlotte Bobcats. Howard was fresh out of his senior season in High School at Soutwest Atlanta Christian Acadamy. When he first came into the league he was being compared to the great David Robinson even with the Jesus first mentality.

Howards 1st season with the Orlando Magic was going well he started the 1st game of the season, and matter of fact he has not missed a start or a game since he came into the NBA the first straight from HS player to do that. Howard coming into the league was known for his knack to give all of his efforts in grabbing the rebound and he did just that in his rookie season. The Magic did not have many set plays for him so he relied on broken plays and offensive rebounds put backs to put points on the board. Dwight finished his first season averaging 12 ppg, and 10 rpg for the Magic team that finished 36-42 and missed the playoffs again for the second straight year.

The second season in the Dwight Howard project has gone even smoother, he has totally dominated his opponets as of now he leads the league in rebounds grabbing a league leading 12.6 boards a night to go along with his 15 ppg. He is leading the Magic this season to a disapointing record of 19-27, he is the only Magic starter to start every game of the year. Howard is just getting started though in the future he will become the most dominate force in the Eastern Conference and perhaps the league. When Howard reaches his prime watch out!!! This young fella will average monster numbers for years to come.

This is an article I wrote for another board, what do you guys think?

Nice job. It is a good recap of Howard's short career and you did a pretty good job. There are some grammar mistakes but other then that, it's a nice article.

By the way TT, it's good to see you posting in here again. You have always been a consistent poster and it's good to have you back.
