Man, there's been a spate of these early deaths recently. Beginning to think there's something to this mortality thing.

I hope Frey and Bowie are jamming in heaven.

I honestly believe it's because the Boomer generation was the first generation raised on highly processed foods, high in sodium, sugars and transfats, along with a lot of nasty additives, with all the healthy stuff processed out. And we didn't figure it out until (too) late in the game.....I suspect most of those folks (like a lot of us) were also cigarette smokers at some point in their lives....

That or rock stars have actually been able to live 40 years longer...in the 70's the drugs killed them at 27 and now it catches up at 67...rock stars are developing a tolerance

It is a shocker. We lost a great musician.

I do find it hard to believe he died of the things the article states. Maybe if he didn't have an immune system (HIV/AIDS?)

He was a heavy coke user for decades...probably cleaned up too late and it caught up..liver, colon, lungs...Bowie was done in by his liver. These guys consumed an enormous amount of alcohol for a long period of time

I know about Colitis..my coworker of 15 years suffered from it....poor diet was his cause, too much abuse and the tissue starts to deteriorate..I took my coworker for his surgery. He lived on coffee, cigarettes and tv dinners.

It's an autoimmune disease, like HIV.

So he probably didn't have much of an immune system.

I meant Fry. The guy was only 69. He shouldn't die from pneumonia at that age. Young people with AIDS die of pneumonia or other similar normally survivable diseases.

The doc made Fry look like a complete asshole. That's my take.

Like how they kicked Don Felder out of the band over money.

Man you guys know a lot about these people passing lately. I barely recognize the names. But then I never developed a taste for the music of their era.
    Some but not much.

Fry was 67, not 69. My error.

I wasn't much of an Eagles fan growing up but I've always thought Frey was a great song writer. It's a sad loss. Got his start working with Bob Seger, a other great songwriter too.
