Totally agree, much more enjoyable. I wasn't fond of Mark Jackson at first, but he grew on me and I liked him an Ian as well. Marv Albert is so incredibly overrated as a basketball play by play/announcer it's ridiculous. Ian is smarter, better spoken, much better humor, and has better knowledge of the game than Albert, thus leading his color guy to better points.
Anybody with Ian is better than any duo anywhere, Ian's a child genius. My favorite, was always Ian("The Birdie")Eagle and Bill Raftery >>>>> than any team. BB, thanks for starting this thread. I've been meaning to start an identical one.
Yep, I think Ian is the best announcer is the league. Why doesn't he get hired to call nationally televised NBA games? TNT? ESPN?
He should get to call the nationally televised Nets-Lakers NBA Finals games at the end of the season.
The main Laker's commentator (dunno his name) sounds like the biggest Nerd voice i have ever listened to in my entire life. And plus he is such a Kobe homer / opposing hater.... The dude goes through PMS when Carter's name comes up.
That's who I grew up listening to. They were the best and were around during the lean times. I always thought it was a shame they didn't do Nets games during the Kidd era.
Hey guys, not only you here, in my Local area, the announcer is really a lakers fucking fan, he cheers while Lakers score and dunk something.
Marv Albert is the announcer equivalent of watching paint dry. Fratello isn't so bad with Ian, imo, but I very much dislike Marv. I was so glad that Ian was doing the Toronto game - Marv would've sucked some of the life out of those big plays.
