"One by one, names speculated to be the Eagles' first-round pick -- whether sensible or not -- slowly trickled off the NFL Draft board. Quarterback Jake Locker? Gone at No. 8 overall. Tackle Nate Solder? Off by 17. Defensive tackle Corey Liuget? Taken one pick after Solder. Cornerback Prince Amukamara? Even the Nebraska cornerback, who tumbled outof the top 15, didn't plummet low enough. The one position that didn't elude the Eagles at No. 23 overall was also the position most needing an upgrade. For the first time since 2006, the Eagles stayed in their original slot in the first round and picked Baylor University offensive lineman Danny Watkins. He played left tackle at Baylor but practiced mostly at guard for the Senior Bowl, and that's where coach Andy Reid initially sees his newest draft pick fitting in. "He can step in and play tackle for you," Reid said. "I don't want to slam the door. He could step in and play tackle right now, and you would have a heck of a football player." But Reid said he envisions Watkins at either right guard or left guard for the moment." Read more: http://www.courierpostonline.com/ar...Watkins-draft?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Eagles
