There's been rumors going around that the Denver Nuggets are looking to part ways with 5'5 point guard, Earl Boykins. I'm just wondering, considering how bad our point guard situation is, if we are showing any interest? I don't know that much about how Boykins plays, but judging by his height, he isn't a traditional triangle point guard. I have only seen him play a couple of times, but I see him as a high energy type of guy that can score the ball. Again, I don't think he is a tradition triangle point guard, but considering the Nuggets just aquired Allen Iverson, they may be looking for some expiring contracts seeing how bloated their salary will become. Would expiring contracts of Mihm and McKie (former teammate of Iverson) be enough?

I like Boykins, but he's not a fit for the defensive schemes the Lakers use. Teams would run the pick and roll on us all night long with Boykins on the court.

Would he be any worse than Smush Paker? Probably his height will give us a disadvantage........

Well, just think back to when Smush Parker was stranded in the post guarding Diaw in the Phoenix series, now imagine Boykins having to deal with that.

Well put Shape. What we need is a Derek Anderson type player...if only D.A was a better passer. I lived in portland when he was playing there and he ALWAYS hit the big shots at the end of games so I know he'd be a reliable scorer for the Lakers.

It might just be me, but I feel the Lakers don't need anyone right now.

When Lamar comes back, I think we'll be right back at the top.

The only person I would trade for or try to aquire is KG.

If we can get that dude without touching Lamar, I'm down.

    KOBE + KG + LAMAR + WALTON + FARMAR

    ^that's scary.

First you gotta stop Kobe, then you gotta stop KG, then you gotta stop Lamar.

I think the only reason Lakers don't wanna part with Bynum is cause of how much time they put into him. I'm probably the only Laker fan, but I HATE ANdrew Bynum.

If we had to give up Kwame or Andrew for part of the KG deal, I'd deal away with Andrew. Defense wins championship, and if we're gonna have any chance winning a title, we're gonna have to do it with Kwame. We don't need our centers to score 25+ a game, because we don't have a problem with offense.

A deal for Earl Boykins won't do this team any good. He might provide a little more consistent offensive punch, but he'd get killed on defense.

I think Boykins has the IQ to play in the triangle, just not the size.

He played great tonight along with A.I. out there so who knows, maybe hell stay?

If the Lakers acquired KG without losing Kobe and Odom.

The Trio would cost 51 mill 2006-07, 55 mill in 2007-08, and 60 mill in 2008-09.

I suspect the Nuggets will keep Boykins now... in spot situations, playing Boykins and Iverson makes for one of the quickest and smallest backcourts of all time, and that could definately burn some teams in limited minutes.
