<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">For the second season in a row, the NBA's schedulers have put the Warriors in position to enjoy a fast start. Once again, the trick may be finding a way to make it last.
According to the 2006-07 schedule that was released Tuesday, 13 of Golden State's first 17 games will be at the Arena, including the season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov.1 at 7:30 p.m. After a brief sojourn early in the month, the Warriors will enjoy a 17-day break from the road as they stage a seven-game homestand, their longest of the season and longest since the 1999-2000 season.

Last season, the team hosted 13 of its first 20 and opened with a 12-6 record. But the Warriors went 22-42 the rest of the way and slid out of the playoff picture for a 12th consecutive year.

Golden State will get its reunions over with early. The team's first road game, in Salt Lake City on Nov.4, will feature former Warriors guard Derek Fisher, who was dealt to the Jazz last month. And Eric Musselman, the abrasive Golden State coach whom Chris Mullin let go in May 2004, comes back to the Arena as the Sacramento Kings' head coach on Nov.16.</div>
