I wanted to post this to know where people think the Sixers will finish (like 6th in the playoffs) And what their top 8 teams in the east look like so far through the offseason...

    My Prediction

    1. Pistons
    2. Heat
    3. Pacers
    4. Bucks
    5. Sixers
    6. Nets
    7. Cavs
    8. Magic

    Misses: Knicks, Wizards, Bulls

The Heat have the biggest jump by getting Shaq...IMO the Hornets and the Knicks will have poor years and fall out of the playoffs...The Sixers who had multiple injurys last year will look to have a healthy Iverson, Marc Jackson, and Robinson, along with the 2 youngsters Green and Dalembert Philly should be in great shape IMO.

I wouldn?t put the Bucks over the Sixers. And with T.J Ford having no timetable for his return; God knows when he will be back.

The Sixers have a lot more depth with this roster. They?re turning to the new NJ Nets of the EC. With their athletic guys like Iverson, Green, Iguodala and Dalembert they should have no problem playing the transition game and I think it will do them good.

Also, you can not have both Detroit and Indiana as the Top 3 seeds in EC. And what?s with the Knicks not making the Playoffs? I honestly believe that they can easily when the Atlantic Division, I?m still leaning on the Sixers to win the Atlantic Division but the Knicks will give them a run for their money.

BTW, the Nets are not going to make the Playoffs in my opinion.

    My Prediction :

    1. Pistons - picking up from last year
    2. Heat - Shaq in Black
    3. Indy - pretty much have the same core as last year
    4. Bucks - nice young core over the past 2 years
    5. Cavs - blossoming Eastern power house
    6. 76ers - good but still need time together
    7. Knicks - will show some spark this year
    8. Nets - will be here if they keep both RJ and Kidd maybe higher

The Bucks losing Brian Skinner hurts them big time, Wizards matching their offer to Etah Thomas was also a big blow. Those two moves might give them the label of the worse frontcourt in the NBA.

Mike James was a good replacement for Damon Jones but they havn't improved enough to be a top 6 seed. They may just edge in by getting the 7th or 8th seed. Mike Redd is going to be depended on alot more than he was last year, he has to provide alot of leadership to get that team up there.

Cavs losing Boozer will hurt them more than people think, even though they picked up Gooden as his replacement.

If Iverson stays heathly then the Sixers could win the atlantic, If the Knicks fail to land Dampier then Philly would be my pick to win the divison and therefore land the 3rd seed.

    Right now im thinking

1.Heat-They have a better season team then any other team in the east
2.Detroit-Front court is amazing so they will win games just because of that and there pg sg combo is also not to shabby
3.76ers-There better then any of the Atlantic Division teams so they get the three
4.Pacers-There team is almost the same and they got Stephen Jackson
5.Cavs-Lebron will be better then last year and they added a consistent good PG
6.Knicks-With the addition of Jamal they have one of the best backcourts in the league so that will carry them far.
7.Bucks-Very young team so you can tell they will be worse and there playing in the hardest east division so its gets harder to have a good record
8.Celtics-With GP and Pierce they have a great backcourt also they have some rookies who can become sleepers

    Thats my view on it.

The Sixers have potential to win the Atlantic, either are no style will help us or hurt us.

It all starts with health if the Sixers can stay healthy I think they will suprise a lot of people.Even though we have a lot of SFs are roster is really solid,we have a star, an up and rising center, a good shooter,an underated PF,an a rising SG,we also have a solid bench withj young players that should contribute off the bench.

    1.Pistons
    2.Heat
    3.Sixers

I am only going to do top three because I am not sure about everyone else, even though the teams in the atlantic have been getting better I still think the Sixers can come out on top.

as much as I hate the pacers, I would put them at #1, they would've whooped the pistons had jermain o'neal and jamal tinsley not gotten injured in the middle of the eastern confrence finals

I don't know why people favour the Sixers over the Raps, here's a coparison:

    PG: Rafer Alston/Willie Green
    SG: Vince Carter/Allen Iverson
    SF: Jalen Rose/Glen Robinson
    PF: Chris Bosh/Kenny Thomas
    C: Donyell Marshall/Samuel Dalempert

Bench: Alvin Williams, Hafa, Morris Peterson, Jerome Moiso/ AI2, Aaron Mackie, Corliss Williamson, Marc Jackson, Brian Skinner.

I think Toronto's starting line up is better than Philly's, Sixers' only advantage is the bench.

i dunno man , it was rick hamilton who was carrying the pistons, offensively, to the finals...when the pistons were having trouble scoring the plan was to pass it to rick cuz he would manage to keep them in the game.

That?s just what you see on paper. When you took a look at the Lakers and Pistons on paper, everyone was in favor of the Lakers, however when both teams met on the court, none of that junk really mattered. What matters is whether or not they can play as a team and do the right things. And can they?re star player lead them in the right direction.

As Avery said thats on paper and the Pistons proved the Lakers wrong.

Although it is arguable that the Sixers are also good on paper.

Donyell Marshall is 6 '9. He isnt a center. He will be comeing off the bench.
You also got the Lineup of the Sixers wrong.

    C-Sammy/RAfela Arajuo(sp?) Sixers
PF- Kenny Thomas/Chris Bosh At this time Kenny is a better player right now but Bosh will be a better player in the future. Sixers
Sf-Jalen Rose/ Glenn- Glenn will play better than people think. He in his contract year and is still capable of putting up similar numbers to Jalen , but Jalen is clearly the better player. Raptors
SG- Willie Green/Vince Carter- a all-star vs a second round sophomore. Willie Green has a bright future but VC15 is clearly the better player. Raptors
PG- Skip/AI- AI former MVP 3 time scoring champ, ROY, nuff said. Skip amazing street baller. AI wins. Sixers.

Bench- Sixers.(the poster guy also forgot to mention Kyle Korver and John Salmons. [IMG] )

    Sixers 4
    Raptors 2

Sixers are better on paper and they also have more chemistry. I am not poisitive just pretty sure.

P.Ss- Did Vince get moved to the shooting guard because I always thought he was a SF. Thnx. :P I wouldn't know I don't folllow the Raptors.

AI is also a better leader than Vince. Which will matter in the end by having his team actually play as a team

yeah rip did carry that team, but every series that they had one player brought that team from the grave like billups in the pistons/nets series

but they are one of the only teams in the NBA that plays really great team ball. I would have said the best next to the nets but Kidd had a harder time trying to pass to players that can't make their shots. Kittles especially getting all those open shots and bricking.
