<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The 6-foot-9 Ebanks is considering Rutgers, Texas and Memphis, but one of those schools could be eliminated by next week, or another school could enter the mix.

"I've heard from about 25 schools," Lawrence McGugins, Ebanks' AAU coach, said Thursday by phone. "It's not going to be open recruiting. He'll let us know the 2-4 schools (he's considering) and I'll contact the schools to let them know."

Ebanks, ranked No. 2 among small forwards and No. 13 overall in the Class of 2008, has opted to de-commit from Indiana after former coach Kelvin Sampson was fired for repeated recruiting violations. Ebanks chose Indiana last summer over Miami, Rutgers and Texas.</div>

He would be a huge get for Rutgers. Wasn't there something about his mother wanting him to go to Rutgers?

The entire Ebanks family is close to asst coach Craig Carter. If Ebanks comes here, Carter will be the main reason why.

Devin Ebanks uncertain of his future at Indiana

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>“Right now we have to meet with Rick Greenspan tonight or probably tomorrow, but we haven’t decided yet,” Ebanks said.

Ebanks is ranked as the No. 13 prospect in the nation according to recruiting service www.rivals.com. He committed to the Hoosiers during the summer, choosing to play for IU instead of Miami (Fla.) and Rutgers.

Dressed in a gray IU basketball sweatshirt, Ebanks sat next to Ray McCallum Jr., son of the Hoosier assistant, and displayed little emotion during the game.

A decision should come soon from Ebanks’ camp on his future with the Hoosiers.

“I will try to make a decision after the Big Ten Tournament,” Ebanks said.</div>

Looks like a decision is coming a hell of a lot sooner than expected.

Top Indiana recruit to explore other options

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ebanks said he will try and take a few visits in the next month. The four schools he's considering are Texas, Memphis, Rutgers and West Virginia.

"Those are my top four and the only ones I'll look at," he added. "I'm going to schedule visits to all four of them."</div>

Hearing "rumors" that it's down to Memphis and WVU. Take them for what they're worth, but I personally don't believe them; can't see how Texas is not still in it. We'll see what develops when he takes his visits.

Visiting WVU next weekend, then Texas, Rutgers, and Memphis the following subsequent weekends, in that order.

    WVU this coming Firday
    Texas on April 25
    Rutgers on May 2
    Memphis on May 9

Final decision to come on or near the 21st.

Now that Alexander has decided to go pro, it'll be interesting to see how it effects Ebank's view of WVU. His AAU coach specifically mentioned the possibility of some players leaving early (mentioned Augustin and Alexander by name) as something that may influence where Ebanks decides to go. Alexander leaving figures to make WVU a little less appealing, but we shall see.

Ebanks will be on the RU campus this weekend.

Rumor has it that Ebanks is essentially down to WVU and RU. It will be interesting to see if he even visits Memphis next weekend, which would mean Rutgers would be his final visit.

Rumors are swirling that Ebanks has silently verballed to the State University of New Jersey, but has not yet announced it publicly. I, for one, refuse to get my hopes up. I don't want Lance Thomas V2.

OK, based on what I've read today, this is the general consensus: Ebanks has not committed in any way, shape, or form to Rutgers, whether it be a silent verbal or what have you. But, what I have gathered is that his visit to Memphis on May 9 will just be a visit for the sake of living up to his word. Rumor is he doesn't want to take the visit, but is just going to Memphis because he said he originally would. So, with all that said, it definitely looks like it's either RU or WVU, so the Big East is probably getting another top tier player next year.

Ebanks' decision coming on the 18th, the day after his graduation. I'll go ahead and give my prediction that he will be playing for West Virginia.

Okay, Ebanks' decision is coming tomorrow and I'm changing my tune: replace Rutgers with Memphis and you have his final two. I still hold he's going to West Virginia though.

I dunno. Just from what I heard a week ago, he was only interested in RU and WVU, with WVU in front by quite a bit. Which is why I still think that's where he ends up. Whether his other choice was/is RU or Memphis, I don't think it really matters anyway because that's not where he's going, IMO.

And with Jonathan Mitchell committing to RU today, it basically tells you Ebanks isn't coming to the Banks. Mitchell is a kick ass consolation prize though.

    Huge get for WVU

As a UC I hope Joe stays in the draft, otherwise WVU is going to be loaded
