<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Timberwolves are petitioning the NBA for an exception that would allow them to send third-year pro Ndudi Ebi to the NBDL, something that came as a surprise to Ebi. "I'm not a development league player. I'm an NBA player," Ebi said Friday after practice. "I've been playing against NBA players since I was 15 years old. I'm an NBA player. I'm not a developmental league player, period." Entering his third season in the NBA, Ebi is not eligible under a new rule that allows teams to assign players with less than two years of experience to the NBDL.</div> Not a big blow to the Wolves, but Ebi sounds like he should stay in the NBA, maybe he'll have a good year in the League if he stays.
I don't like the attitude of Ebi here because at the end of the day it's his own fault he's not higher up on the depth chart.
I've been high on Ebi since the start of his career when he was drafted from Texas. High School players dont usually make an instant impact so I dont see his not being an amazing player by now as a bad thing, look at other players and how long it took them to develop. Last year I wondered what happened to Ebi, he played like 2 games the whole season and he did good those two games so I was like why's he not playing? Hopefully if the Wolves do anything with him it's let him go so he can go somewhere else where they need a backup SF like Sacramento, Philly or Charlotte.
Man i just hope Ebi does well, he was so good in high school and hasnt done much in the NBA.They let him stay in the League and play him a lil more, and he needs to work hard for his time as well.
What has Ebi done so far in his career? He is a NBA player who has only appeared in only 19 games in his NBA career and is struggling to find minutes even in preseason play, where teams test out unknowns and scrubs. If he doesn't fit the bill for a NBDLer, then I don't know who does.

Mind you, I don't think Ebi has the potential of becomind a player of the kind of JO but he was never given a real chance and he showed some promise at the end of last year. Anyway, Ebi cannot and is not going to the NBDL which makes it even more likely that he'll be cut.

I liked him from the start and do think that he has some hidden talent. However, that doesn't mean he's ready right now. He would be best benefitted to play in the NBDL, where he will be at around the same caliber as others and will get a better chance to develop than playing in practice. I don't see why the Wolves really want that roster spot that badly. Ebi is still just 21 and has a world of potential left. And it's not like the Wolves are going anywhere in the near future.

If he started the first 2 games of the season like that I hope you wouldn't believe he'd average that..
Well Ebi is not allowed to the D-League, so it's a moot point. Now the question becomes whether or not to hold him, waive him, or trade him. I'm sure the TWolves shopped him around all summer, and possibly all of last year. Obviously other teams are not convinced Ebi is worth the risk either, so the TWolves have no choice, but to waive him.
The whole situation with Ebi has been a myth to me for the last couple seasons. It always seems like he has a lot of potential. He is still very young, and has performed well when given very rare minutes(end of last season against Spurs for example). Last year he should have gotten more time towards the end of the season as well, since the Wolves were screwed at that point. Yet i've still never heard any indictaion of him possibly getting more minutes this year. Of course the only explanation for this is that hes not as good as I think he is. When it comes down to it, in a situation like this we have no idea what were talking about, and what matters are the coaches that are working with him. If he has gotten little time in the preseason, the he is obviously not impressing the coaches. Seems simple as that too me. The Wolves are eager to develop McCants, and I think that if they saw anything in Ebi they wouldn't be trying to get rid of him. I guess he just isn't as good as people though.....then again they could be wrong, trade him away, and then he becomes and all-star....that would be just our luck.
ndudi has been a major dissapointment so far. Lets hope he can turn his game around in the D-league (and hit the weight room)
