Ex-Raven, Ed Hartwell has signed with the Falcons and will hope to be a starting Linebacker unlike when he was with the Ravens.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor..._len&id=2018331 Finally, us Falcons fans have been waiting for this guy to sign in Atlanta and choose us over the other teams in the running for him. Glad he picked Atlanta. From what I've heard Hartwell will be starting at LB. Which means Chris Draft will be out of his starting job. Overall a great signing for the Falcons.
Seattle was in the running, and I really didnt think we were going to end up signing Hartwell. I didnt think we had the cap room, so either I was wrong about the cap or some changes were made to get him signed.

Dont you already have middle backer(brooking?) I just dont see him fitting the Defense he is a 3-4 backer IMO.

The Ravens played a 4-3 I think, I'm not sure and since Ray Lewis who was the best MLB for that situation, the coaches made Ed Hartwell a backup because he didn't show that much potential compared to Ray did.
Pats is right, Brooking was moved outside so Hartwell will be the MLB I'm assuming Draft will be moved out of that spot. I think he should do well there from what I've seen of him he looks to be pretty solid.
