With the talk of Eddy Curry being in the best shape of his career, and this being his contract year he could have a big season for the Bulls,it finally looks like he has been working hard to achieve something. Eddy Curry PPG:18.6 RPG:8.3 APG:2.3 SPG:1.3 FG%:48.9 FT%:72.6 MPG:37.9 This season will persuade the Bulls what they want to do with Eddy Curry, let him walk as a free agent or re-sign him to an extension.
PPG- 18.4 RPG- 7.7 APG- 2.3 SPG- .20 FG%- 512 FT%-69% MPG-32 MPG He's gonna finally break out of hi shell. Only thing that ever stopped him was that he was a fatass, that no longer is a problem.
Bold prediction PPG 19 RPG 8 APG 2.3 SPG .80 FG%:48.9 FT%:72.6 MPG:38 I think he will have a break out year considering he is on track to be under 285 when the season starts he will have a whole new demention of speed added to his game ( by curry standards anyway) which means he will be able to get a few more rebounds that he could not get before. I also believe that his new size or lack there of in terms of weight will aloow him to get more points on the break since he will do a better job keeping up as well as giving him a little bit more speed in getting to his shot quicker when he is trying to do a little fade away shot after getting his man deep in the post. Overall like Obie said it will be a great season break out year for Curry. A lot of people disrespect him because he averaged 14 and 6 last year, but a lot of people for get with those numbers he is probably one of the top three centers in the eastern conference. With numbers like 19 and 8 he will be the second most valuable center in the east and definitely the more how should I say it important of the two who will be the more dominate in the future cosidering the age of the first best center in the east (for anyone who is slow and does not know I am reffering to Shaq). Shaq is the best center in the east currently do to the fact that he is the most dominate player of our time, but over the next two maybe three years as his game declines I would not be surprised to see Curry as the elite eastern center if he remains a Bull which probably will happen hopefully.
At this point i'll just predict the PPG and RPG averages for Curry. Those are the most important for a center along with FG%, so hey i'll throw that one in too. PPG: 18-19.5 RPG: 8-9.8 FG%: around 50-51% With more mobility his ability to get rebounds will hopefully, if not definately increase and therefore he should get more. As long as he doesn't get lazy he'll get more RPG. With a better frame his PPG should rize as well and i think that this up coming year will be the season (agreed with the others) that he breaks out, somewhat. To the extent that people will stop dissing him so much, but not to the extent that will be near his statistical top. @Pureskillz: Don't forget that Ben Wallace is a great center as well. So even if curry averages around these numbers suggested i still don't think he will be the second, but definately the third. I just think that with big ben getting better on the offensive end yet still keeping up his blocks and rebounds per game averages he will still be the best in the east (excluding SHAQ)

Besides I thought they moved Big Ben to the power forward slot last season after drafting Darkop and getting Sheed and Campbell they may move him back, but if Curry is averaging 18 and 8 at roughly 7 feet tall I think he is better than Ben who will probably be averaging something like 8 points and 10 rebounds. More of a all around player while Ben is a hard nosed defense threat only really.
Well i think Ben averages more towards 13-15 rebounds since he has the last like 3 seasons, he averaged a double double in the finals with like 13 points and 14 rebounds or something. If Curry can prove to be a shot blocker and a pretty good defender, then he can be considered better than Ben. But also the only way we'll tell who'll be better is waiting, right now its all up in the air!

Curry will have a good year. I don't know if he is going to break out though. I think if he stays in shape, in a year he will be a monster. That's better anyways because the Bulls could sign him to a not so expensive deal and he could be a top 3 center later on. He's only 21 or 22 isn't he? He could be a serious force by 25. That way you could keep Deng, Gordon, Hinrich and not even sweat about being too high up on the salary cap.

Centers are just scarce nowadays, and have a potentially dominant center who is already a top 7 or better is worth a lot of cash. Teams will be offering him big contracts if he gets a little bit better and not a whole lot, but i still think he'll break out if he stays within the 285 zone and is more just straight muscle rather than muscle under a layer of chub.
