<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Rockets forward Eddie Griffin expects to receive a two-game suspension without pay today for skipping the team's preseason game in Sacramento.

Griffin said he learned of the punishment after a short meeting with coach Jeff Van Gundy on Wednesday.

Griffin said he stayed in Houston rather than fly with the team to Sacramento on Monday or join the team Tuesday to attend to "personal, family problems."

    A two-game suspension would cost Griffin $51,394.

"I just had some problems I had to take care of," Griffin said.

"Things are fine now. I'm going to be back with the team. I'm going to be out for two games, but I understand, because that's the best for the team because I didn't show up.

The Rockets have until the end of the month to exercise their option to extend Griffin's contract to a fourth season. </div>

Last year he used the same excuse and he didnt even go into details with the actual organization. I mean its cool just to let the public know that they are public/personal issues, however you have to let the actual organization know the real truth.

Griffin has good talent as mentioned...but He is turning into the Clippers Lamar Odom...Not playing to his poteinal and a guy not willing to put the effort in..among other things..I hope he sorts it out and Van Gundy brings out the best in him...However I doubt Rockets will extend his contract..wouldn't be surprised to see him go on the trading block.

    Talent

I hope he's okay. It's hard to get back into the NBA once you're out especially when no one knows you're peak level of performance.

Like Vince and all his injuries. He gets the benefit of the doubt because we know his peak and if consistent how great a baller he can be.

Eddie has had a few bangin' ass games, but not enough to garner the respect and/or many second chances.
