Rod Thorn is making some real boneheaded moves this season. After being considered a genius he is looking like he's wearing a dunce cap
Hmm... Scott should still be the coach, yet Frank has the Nets playing great, and they're undefeated in their last 10 games... Hmm. Think about what you just said. After you realize your transgressions, go sit in a corner. As for the moving of the Nets, they don't have any fans in Jersey, really. Moving to New York will give them a boost.
Eddie Griffin.....Didn't I tell all of you how stupid it'd be to sign him? The Rockets released him for a reason...... Who's the genius now?

I kept saying that before he worried about getting back into the league he needed to straighten his life out. This cat is running out of lives.
The only thing I can say about this is that Iam happy it went bad before Eddie Griff. became a legit part of the Nets team & chemistry. It wasnt a bonehead move by Rob thorn in my opinion. He took a risk of bringing in a great talent & then he cut it off before it went south. If Eddie Griff situation would have worked out then it would have been great for the Nets. They would have gotten more bench depth & more frontline scoring which the Nets need. And it would have been great for E Griff because he was getting a legit shot at a 2nd chance to get back in the league & change his life. If Griff would have came to the Nets & been a productive member on/off court then it would have been the feel good story of the season. And everyone would have been praising Thorn for taking such a risk. But it didnt work out & I commend thorn for breaking it off as soon as possible. No need to drag it out for the second half of the season. And having everyone ask whats up with Eddie Griffen?
I agree...a complete waste of talent, but mostly due to his immaturity...I dont think Eddie's a bad person at all, but he surrounds himself with losers...I really hope he gets his life turned around very soon, because he has loads of potential...

One of the biggest mistakes they've ever made.
He traded all three of his first round picks for Griffin, I believe the third pick ended up being Brandon Armstrong. I don't think Eddie is a bad guy either, he's just the type of dude that keeps things bottled up. Anybody else the article about him in espn mag a couple of weeks ago? It talked about the death of his brother and mentor that devastated Eddie so badly and sent him into a depression. It's a sad story, but in the end Eddie has to realize that he's starting to ruin his life and opportunities for future success by being so withdrawn. He needs to take care of his legal problems, start training religiously and surround himself with some positive influences. If he gets back on track it might not be too late, but if he keeps going the way he is it won't end well for him.

Griffin was full of potential at the time and was a projected top 3 pick before his off-court troubles made him slip in the draft. It was a gamble that pretty much any team would have made, just that the Rockets lost it this time. When Eddie was released, it was a smart move to help him realize that he needs to get his problems sorted out before thinking he could play basketball again. Too bad he failed to come to his senses and still signed with New Jersey. Rod Thorn did a bad job, I can tell you that.

Griffin was one of the most sought after prospects at the time.
