Chicago is buying out Robinson. The Knicks are one of a few teams that are interested in Robinson. I think we can use all the help we can get in the frontline. I'm all for it. Article
Understand that I am all for acquiring front court help. But I don't think that Robinson would provide us with much more than a stiff who has wasted his potential. He's not my type of player, there's no reason to throw him on the team. He can't really help us at all. I mean, he's not the worst player, but his game provides more damage to his team than good. If Isiah opened his eyes and realized that players have to have brains to be successful, not just 'talent'. Isiah is/has been blinded by this wall of the term: 'upside'. He doesn't consider the bad elements such as....stupidity.(*cough* Tim Thomas and Nazr Mohhamed*cough*). Don't even think about it, Isiah. Or the New York crowd will really give it to you, and I'll be right there with 'em.
Robinson is similar to Trevor Ariza. Normally, having just one athletic, slashing small forward on your team would be sufficient, but the Knicks could do with two because they aren't exactly the strongest at the small forward position. In Robinson and Ariza, you actually could have a nice duo at small forward in the future to complement Marbury or Crawford.
^I think many Knicks fans would agree that Robinson is not near the level that Ariza is going to be reaching soon. Not even close. I don't see the point of picking him up, he's nothing for us. We have the following for the 3: 1st for SF: TT 2nd for SF: Ariza (My boy---Lenny better give him some minutes) 3rd for SF: Penny I'd rather have a veteran with leadership skills and knowledge of the game come off the bench than Eddie Robinson. Especially when that vet is very popular with the crowd and has helped Ariza take it to the next level. Plus, Robinson is one more spunky bum for Lenny to deal with. And as we all know, Lenny isn't too good at dealing with bums (*cough* Tim Thomas and Nazr Mohhamed *cough*)
I've never even seen him play but I did have a friend who always told me Eddie Robinson would be a star .... But now that same friend moved to Florida and became a Heat fan
