This is a sad day in chicago sports! Full Article Well weve been good with out him but we already miss his presence. Get well soon Eddie! Go Bulls!
Huge blow for Chicago. First Deng, now Curry. The Bulls could be looking at an early exit come playoff time if this is true. Granted Chandler, AD, and Harrington are all capable to play there, we lose added depth, which has been huge for us all season long. But, if it's better for Curry to not play, than don't let him play. Hopefully he gets well very soon and I wish him the best.
Can someone please explain this whole "irregular heartbeat" thing to me? How do you treat something like that and how does something like that happen? How would it effect Curry if he played during the playoffs despite having an "irregular heartbeat"? I've noticed that Stromile Swift has recently missed games for having an "irregular heartbeat" as well, and I have just never understood it. Anyway, the Bulls are going to most likely lose in the first round now. Whether they play Indiana or Washington, they'll be playing a hot team, and it's likely that they don't have homecourt advantage. If you're a Bulls fan, you've got to just be hoping that last night's Wizards/Bulls game wasn't any indication of how this team will do against Washington in the playoffs.
dont under-estimate us. We are 6 - 3 without Curry, one was a stupid loss to Detriot and another was because we played crap and Chandler was gone in the first.

The only team that you've beaten that is in the playoff race is Cleveland, and they're probably the most troubled team in the league. When you guys played the Shaq-less Heat you lost by 18 and when you played the Wizards last night, a team you'll likely see in the playoffs, you lost by 11. You're getting killed in the paint too. Last night Haywood, Jeffries, and Jamison combined for 37 rebounds against you.
I think that this is a sad day for sports in Chicago, since Eddy Curry was one of the first picks of the rebuilding years for Chicago. And now that they are in the playoffs he can't play is a bummer. I guess now we can say that it was good he went straight from high school to the Nba because now eqleast he has financial security for himself if for some reason he couldn't play basketball again. But this is a huge blow for the bulls and their playoff push but most of all its a blow to Eddy. He really loves the game and now he can't do what he loves.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Can someone please explain this whole "irregular heartbeat" thing to me? How do you treat something like that and how does something like that happen?</div>An irregular heartbeat is caused by some other part of the heart aside from the pacemaker causing the heart to beat, therefore beating irregularly causing all these symptoms. I believe if the person is unconscious you can give them mouth-to-mouth resessitation or schock them with a difibulator (or however its spelled). I could be wrong, check out WebMD if you really dont understand, I know I might be wrong. Bad, bad news. Our possible run at the ECF is no longer in sight. I feel we can get past the first round, but beyond that I feel is impossible. No Deng. No Curry. No Eastern Conference Finals. We should try to slip down to the 6 seed because we could beat Boston and we could take Detroit to quite a few games (wouldn't win though without EC). Time to look for some big men to fill the void. Last I heard, Jahidi White is available. He'd be a very good pickup. According to this article Ousmane Cisse ( ), Kirk Haston, and Corey "Smokin' Dat" Blount are all being given a try. I'd love Ousmanne Cisse or White. We arent going to be able to fill EC's scoring void so we should try to compensate for some of his scoring and more defense, one of his weaknesses (until his most recent games). If we strengthen our defense with a young athletic wing player in the minor leagues and get a quality bigman (ex. Cisse, White) I feel we can make a good run in the playoffs and not just a one-and-out season.
Chandler seems to have picked up his scoring, along with Harrington we should be alright. Can never have to many big men for the boards. I still think we might shock some teams.
This definately spells trouble and I only hope Curry will be healthy enough to even continue his career. This sounds like something that can get serious. I also think that due to this problem Curry won't be asking for as much money if he were healthy and playing through the playoffs. Now there's an added risk that can screw the team over if they sign him to a huge contract.
I may have been dreaming but i thought they said something along the lines that it isnt serious and he should be able to continue his career, this was before the decision to kep him out for the rest of the season. But i may be mistaken.
This might damage the bulls chances to do some damage in the playoffs because without him they basically have have no inside presence againt washington. Get well soon Eddie.

I've noticed that Stromile Swift has recently missed games for having an "irregular heartbeat" as well, and I have just never understood it.</div> An irregular heartbeat is pretty serious. Luckily, Curry is someone who's looked at by doctors regularly playing in professional sports. How do you get it? Lots of ways. Of course there's the genetic disposition which makes it more likely. But it can be specifically triggered by exercise, stress, drugs like caffeine or nicotine, heart disease, obesity, or anything else that lowers the levels of pure oxygen to your blood (high blood pressure, high cholestorol, etc). So it's a lot of things. Thus, if you notice that your heart starts beating faster or missing beats and start worrying about it, it actually can cause your condition to worsen. How to treat it? Pacemakers or surgery are very invasive ways. Less invasive are simple relaxation techniques. Drugs are also common. Somtimes, you can treat the underlying causes (like by cutting out smoking or exercising more if that's what you need). Treatment really depends on how severe the condition is - if you're only missing a few heartbeats, that's not serious. What is serious is if your heart start "vibrating" instead of pumping - essentially the same as what you experience if you have a muscle spasm that you can't control. Except it's the most important muscle in your body. I'm not sure what Curry has, although I suspect its fairly severe. But, it's manageable. It'll lower his value, but it won't destroy it.
