Efthimios Rentzias, a 6'11 center from Greece was let go by the Philadelphia 76ers on August 6th I believe. He has gone on to sign with another team in Turkey, terms of the deal are not available though, for now all we can refer to is this link:

I am not surprised that he was let go, many of us hardly even knew who this guy was, let alone had we seen him play. He averaged 4.1 minutes per game, while managing to get 1.5 points per game. He was mainly brought in as we needed more defensive help, but he just shined the chairs most of the time.

im actually suprised by this. becuase i was there in boston to see him play in summerleague, and in my opinion he did great. he rebounded, he makes alot of his jumpers. he hit the game winning jumper in the game i saw. o well, like AI4EVER said, now this gives us space for willie or kyle, which if it comes down to one, im pretty sure it will be kyle.

I always liked dalembert...mainly because he is from seton hall, and thats where i want to play...i really am hoping that he has a breakout year, and getting rid of rentzias may give him that chance. Rentzias wouldnt have played very much anyway.

Many people do great in the summer leagues but then you don't see them do much in the regular season.

Mainly because they dont get to play much to show what they can do in the regular season...especially playing under larry brown who never gives the younger players a chance to develope.

I've heard about this too. Im personally glad he is gone. All he did was take up a space on our bench. I havent seen him play that much, the fact Larry didnt give him any playing time, but it was time for him to go. The best I remember he did was make 2 threes in two straight possesions against Atlanta. Anyway, he's in the past now.

True in some ways, of course they don't get time to play because we need to win games. The second thing is when Larry was a coach for us and as for any other team he coached, he made guys prove themselves in practice. That is how they would move up to get starting positions. I wouldn't either just put in a guy in the game, and watch him develop there. Even if we were to have a big lead. That is what you call smart coaching, you cannot put unproven players in, in the heat of a game.
