Quarterback EJ Manuel missed Florida State's first fall scrimmage Thursday for precautionary reasons, coach Jimbo Fisher said. Another player rolled onto Manuel's ankle during a two-minute drill at Wednesday's closed practice, Fisher said. The senior left the field under his own power, wearing a walking boot intended to reduce swelling.
