http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2011/03/trail_blazers_rookie_elliot_wi.html Sometimes I forget he was one of our 1st round picks this year.
Whoooaaa crazy! Seems like a quick recovery from two surgeries. Hopefully he can make it happen in the NBA.
The first thing that ran through my mind when I saw this thread was 'who the hell is elliot willi ... oh, that guy!'. Hopefully he still has his hops next year, and let's hope there is a Summer League to get him some PT in a structured environment.
Even if the knees fully heal, he is still stuck as a "tweener". Is there really a role on this team for a poor man's Bayless?
I hope his knee surgeries didn't take away from his athleticism. He's a world class athlete in the Gerald Green, James White mold. His calling card is supposedly defense though, I'd be happy with a defensive specialist type.
Maybe he is the reason why we haven't filled that roster spot vacated by Collins' departure yet. Interesting. Do we need another guard for the playoffs?
Not likely - Williams has been on the roster all along. Him being healthy doesn't take up a roster spot. barfo
He's not a good shooter and plays like a SF. Great dunker, but not a great dribbler to get there. Needs some Miller and Camby alley-oop passes. Since we drafted him I've compared him to Desmond Mason (who I always thought was overrated). http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/masonde01.html What the hell? That guy wasn't any 6-7! They always called him 6-5.
exactly. I've another barefoot sub-6'5 "tweener" for Blazer Prophet... MJ lessor player, but Wesley also came in at 6'4 STOMP
Correct, the offense for both players is to simply charge the basket. How about calling him Bayless + rebounding. After 5 years experience, if he plays like a busy bee, his ceiling will be Rudy without the outside shooting threat.
