How is this still a scam? This scam was quite common in 2017/2018 when Bitcoin and other digital currencies were popular.

What happened was someone at twitter was socially engineered to give up access. All verified accounts were taken under control. Nothing to do with musk or gates. So people apparently sent bitcoin, but that is the law of averaged, same reason why people send out spam emails, very low percentage of people are gullible enough to think its legit.
