<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DENVER -- Denver Nuggets rookie center Francisco Elson apologized Thursday for calling Kevin Garnett gay after the Timberwolves' star hit him in the groin during a game.

Elson said Wednesday that Garnett hit him during the first quarter of Minnesota's 84-82 victory the night before, then said he was gay for touching his private parts.

Elson was chastised by gay and lesbian groups for his comments and issued an apology through the Nuggets' media relations department.

"I would like to apologize to the gay and lesbian community for my comments about Kevin Garnett," Elson said. "I realize my comments were insensitive and they were out of character for me. However, I take full responsibility and I have learned a valuable lesson."

You know, I think his claim might've been justified a bit more if Garnett had been rubbing his nuts instead of hitting them.

^ [IMG] Your avatar is off the hook. [IMG] from the comments Elson made about that and like Kenny Smith was saying, all KG was trying to do is make him bow down.

That was very immature of him, he's acting like Miller, just because they're going to lose. He should be a better sport. He should act a lot nicer, sort of like 'Melo although he seems incapable, that apology didn't sound sincere to me, as far as both parties go, KG and the Lesbian and Gay people. He needs to watch what he says, he already appears disrespectful and somewhat racist to me if you ask me.

"Somewhat racist?" What seems to indicate that he's racist at all?

hes being slack to gay ppl so hes a rascist? haha i dont get that one either.. maybe he's homophobic but i dunno bout rascist.. it cracks me up when ppl in this forum continually talk about the "class" of the twolves.. then Elson goes on to make a statement like this.. thats pathetic.. but in a way im glad this trash talk is going on.. i know ppl dont really like it but i LOVE when players bark back and forth at each other.. i do it when i play on the court every day, it makes the game more physical, personal and competitive, i absolutely love it.. Game 5 is going to be great one 2 watch, i can't wait!! go twolves!

This whole thing was an absolute joke in the first place. The fact that Elson honestly said that Garnett was a "low key" player and a "***" (did he use that or was it something else I forget) What a piece of garbage.

Well, I suppose that's all Denver can do at this point is talk their garbage because they know deep down that their season is over after tonight.

Talk about a classact, all you Denver fans, I apologize. I didn't know what was class when talking about Sprewell, I thank Elson for enlightening me. Sprewell should study how Elson acts and get some behaviour tips from him, don't you think?

Let them trash talk. It's more fun that way. Hahaha. But come on guys, you'd be mad too if someone hits you in your nuts.

Although i don't see the point of Spree talking trash to Barry after the game after where he missed two crucial FT's.

ha ha why is the lesbo community getting pissed? They should be happy he promoted gays. And if someone hit me in the nuts 'gay' would be a word that is TOO nice. I'd call him something else.. not as nice.
