The new agent for defensive end Elvis Dumervil and the Denver Broncos lost a longshot appeal to the NFL to get a verbal argeement honored by the league. The Denver Post reported the NFL denied an appeal made by new Dumervil agent Tom Condon and the team. The denial was expected. Dumervil and the Broncos agreed upon a restructured contract that would have paid him $8 million in 2013. However, Dumervil's agent did not get the paperwork faxed to the team until seven minutes after the NFL deadline Friday. The Broncos were forced to cut Dumervil because it would have had to pay him $12 million in 2013 otherwise.
