<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A day after saying his team has to rebound better, Charlotte Bobcats coach Bernie Bickerstaff is going smaller and quicker with his starters.

Bickerstaff told the Observer on Tuesday he's replacing 6-foot-10 Melvin Ely in the starting lineup with 6-6 Bernard Robinson. That will make the Bobcats smaller at forward (6-8 Jumaine Jones remains in the other forward spot), but Bickerstaff hopes it makes his starters more active.

"We're just kind of stagnant (offensively) now," Bickerstaff said. "We're playing awfully slow right now because the post is jammed up. I want to get more perimeter activity."

The Bobcats are on a 12-game losing streak entering tonight's home game against the Atlanta Hawks. Bickerstaff suspects Ely's post-up game will fit better with the second five. He said Ely starting probably made center Primoz Brezec less effective as a scorer.

"Now when we bring in Mel, we can feature him" as a scorer with the reserves, Bickerstaff said.

This shift makes the starters that much smaller on a team that has been outrebounded 11 straight games. Bickerstaff said there might be no real fix for that problem, with Emeka Okafor and Gerald Wallace injured.</div>

I've always been a fan of Bernard Robinson ever since he came out of Michigan for the draft. I'm really curious to see how he performs with Raymond Felton.
