    Emre joins Fenerbahce

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Turkey midfielder Emre Belozoglu finally inked a four-year deal with Fenerbahce, the Anatolia news agency on Wednesday quoted the Turkish club as saying, two months after English Premiership side Newcastle said he could leave.

The former Galatasaray and Inter Milan star struggled to hold down a regular first-place after moving to Newcastle in July 2005 and scarcely featured last season.

The 27-year-old's stay in England was marred after an incident in a match against Everton in December 2006 led to accusations he racially abused Joseph Yobo, Tim Howard and Joleon Lescott. He was eventually cleared by the English FA.

Fenerbahce reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season and have since stiffened the squad with the arrival of Spanish striker Daniel Guiza while also appointing Spain's Euro 2008-winning coach Luis Aragones.</div>

Fenerbahce will be a team to watch as a threat to any big team aspiring for Champions League success.

While I agree that the Turkish Süper Lig isn't strong, they aren't made up of "the Prem's rejects." Competition is very weak considering that only Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş actually contend for the title each season, but that isn't saying much considering that the Premiership is basically the same way.
