Alan Shearer [former Captain of the English Team] stated that the decision of Beckham to move to LA left him without the possibility of returning to the English Team and Premiership Clubs. Shearer further stated that Mc Claren [current English Manager] prefers the likes of Lennon and Gerard.

I respect Mr. Shearer to express his opinion yet I am reminded of how the United States used to criticize football [soccer] fans. In an earlier period, the USA and its media used to laugh at MLS, the US Football Team. The USA used to level accusations saying the only sports in USA were "Basketball, American Football, and Baseball". Now the USA is not laughing.

As for Beckham, [if he plays football] I hope that he could help contribute to the beginning of a Golden Era in US Football Soccer. I also hope that Beckham and Donovan could form a Dynamic Duo in the LA Galaxy.

Beckham could do no worse that Lampard and Gerrard in the last match. in fact I'm sure he could have done much better.
Takes a BIG man to admit he's wrong and McClaren is clearly wrong about Beckham and wrong about team selection and wrong about tatics.

In fact McClaren is simply the wrong man for the job.

Beckham is nowhere near the same standard as Lampard and Gerrard even on a bad day. Beckham is just not up to international standard anymore. He will have a good couple of years in America as he is still a good player but it is important to let the younger players have a good run of games.

Yes, it is important to let younger players have games Dan, but when it comes to it would you rather have Beckham in the team and possibly beat the likes of Crotia and Spain, or have SWP and be embarrassed. McClaren was trying to get rid of this trend of "We HAVE to have Beckham in the team" But the thing is, who else have we got that can fully fill his boots yet? McClaren was just pointlessly trying to be controversial.

Good point kyle i have to agree with you on that. By removing Beckham from the squad was just like saying "I am a manager who can drop ANYBODY, and isnt afraid of doing so".

Beckham should be back in the squad.
