His Yankee career certainly likely over. Has a partially torn UCL and his flexor tendon was torn from the bone. He will require surgeries to fix both. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...i-expected-2017-2-surgeries-article-1.2753898
...sorry to hear that...never could understand why someone with such great stuff was so consistently inefficient...he threw way too many more pitches than he should have...he could have been a front end starter. ...in retrospect, Cashman once again got hosed concerning that trade.
They were discussing some of the bad moves on WFAN today. Not everything can be a gem and I'm certainly happy with the younger guys and what might be on the way in the future. That doesn't erase some of the bad contracts and decisions that were made. I would certainly of preferred Prado over Headley. A pitcher could've been bought with the extra money instead of hoping they could turn Eovaldi around. Then of course there's the much discussed Ellsbury disaster. I get not wanting a ten year Cano deal at monster money but then what sense did giving Ellsbury seven years at big money make?
...just going from memory, I seem to remember the Ellsbury signing as a knee jerk over-reaction from Cashman after Cano turned his nose up at the Yanx contract offer.
When Cano signed with Seattle I figured what the hell, they got Ellsbury, Beltran, and Mac. El;sbury gets worse by the season, Beltran got really good this season, and McCann handled the staff well but came up a bit more short on the stick than Yankees Fans hoped for. I was not for that Eovaldi, Prado, Phelps trade either. The fans liked Prado, Phelps was starting to come into his own, now the Yankees have Headley. We'll see Tex and I guess possibly Sabathia gone this year, Those kids will come into their own but this team other than Tank has shaky starting though we have seen surprises. Given Eovaldis case I hate to see any man deprived of his livelihood for any reason. Hope he'll be able to recover and pitch in MLB again.
